AI Typing Practice

Take a test below. Every mistake is logged, and your AI lesson is written around the specific keys, letter pairs and words that slow you down.

How AI typing practice works

  1. Take ordinary tests while signed in. Every test you finish records which characters you mistyped, which letter pairs you hesitate on and which whole words you get wrong.
  2. We build a weakness profile. Those mistakes are combined across your recent tests, so one bad run does not skew it. The profile is a ranked list of weak keys, weak letter pairs and weak words.
  3. AI writes a lesson for you. On the personalized lessons page, an AI model writes a new passage of natural, readable prose that uses your weak words several times and packs in words containing your weak characters.
  4. Practise, retest, repeat. As a weakness improves it drops down the profile, and the next lesson targets whatever is now slowest.

Why targeted practice beats random passages

A random passage spends most of its length on keys you already type well. If your problem is the b/n reach or the word “necessary”, you might meet it twice in a minute. A targeted lesson puts it in front of you a dozen times, in varied real words, so the finger motion is rehearsed until it stops being a hesitation. This is the principle of deliberate practice: spend your repetitions on what is hard, not what is comfortable.

What AI practice is not

  • It does not change how you are scored. WPM and accuracy use the same standard net-WPM method as every other test on the site.
  • It is not gibberish drills. Some trainers generate nonsense strings of weak letters. Ours are readable sentences, because you type real words at work and the practice should transfer.
  • Standard tests use curated passages. The regular speed tests use a fixed, reviewed passage library so scores stay comparable between runs. AI-generated text is reserved for the personalized lessons, where variety is the point.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. You need a free account so your mistakes can be saved between tests, and there is a daily limit on how many AI lessons you can generate. The standard typing tests have no limit.

A few. One test gives a rough picture; three to five tests give a reliable one, because a weak key has to show up repeatedly before it counts as a real pattern rather than a one-off slip.

Only the practice text. It chooses words that contain your weak characters and letter pairs, and repeats the specific words you tend to misspell, while keeping the passage grammatical and readable.

A normal test measures you. AI practice trains you: the text is chosen for your weaknesses rather than picked at random, so each session works on what is slowing you down.
